Children for Children Cancer Campaign

Nacosti staff members led by Mr. Kalrewa presenting a cheque donor for Ksh .250,000 to Kenya Medical Association (KMA) national chairman Dr Elly Nyaim.

The Kenya Medical Association (KMA) is seeking to raise Sh100 million through corporate organisations for their ‘Children for Children Cancer Campaign’.

The campaign by KMA follows alarming trends on cancer prevalence in Kenya, which calls for concerted efforts between the government, private sector and heath sector stakeholders. Cancer is now reported to be the third highest cause of illness in Kenya after infectious and cardiovascular diseases.
It is estimated that 28,000 new cases of cancer are reported each year in Kenya with more than 22,000 deaths annually. 60 per cent of Kenyans affected by cancer are younger than 70 years old, with 70-80 per cent of cancer cases diagnosed in late stages. This worrying situation is causing a major burden for families, organizations and the health system.

For a contribution of Ksh.200/- or more you can help KMA spread the cancer message and afford a child treament for cancer. MPESA:KMA Annual Cancer Campaign Till Number: 356535
